I’m a BIG believer that Aristotle was right when he said that “we are what we repeatedly do; excellence then is not an act but a habit.” I was in the U.S. Army for 10 years so my job literally required me to learn how to maintain my personal health and be able to push the limits of physical endurance. You can really appreciate how important sleep and proper nutrition are only after denying yourself both for days on end.
Now, I’m an Olympic Lifting Coach at a local Barbell Club and a personal trainer. I love what I do. And I decided that I wanted to share my passion for health and wellness with a larger group of people than just my athletes. I love it when I get to see ‘the light go on’ for people. Seeing someone realize how much power they really have over their lives and take responsibility for their health and fitness is priceless. Being a part of their journey is an absolute privilege. One of my proudest accomplishments is helping my good friend, Kyle, take control of his health through a conditioning program and smart food choices. Most importantly he was camera ready for his wedding (you’re welcome, Kyle and Tiffany). I want to inspire people to seek knowledge, actively engage in their own health and wellness, and actually enjoy making good choices for themselves!
Being healthy isn’t about sacrifice and self-deprivation. I don’t know how or why this idea came into being. Health and wellness is about being happy in your own skin and enjoying a quality balanced life. There are a few things that I believe need to happen for everyone when they decide to change their mindset and choose a healthy lifestyle.
1) Reawaken your relationship with food. Really KNOW what you’re putting in your body.
2) Find an activity that excites you to motion.
3) Look at the products you put in your life. Are they healthy? Are they keeping YOU healthy?
4) You can improve your health in everything you do. There is no activity that’s off limits.
My journey to be the healthiest me I can be is far from over. I am by no means a master of all things health related. But I love learning and sharing what I learn with others. I hope that what you find on my page is helpful to you in some way shape or form. If it inspires you to action, I’ve achieved my goal.
